2006 Chardonnay Alexander Valley
Chardonnay vineyards from Alexander Valley’s cooler regions were selected to produce this wine, and vinified separately in small lots. After selection, in which lots were tasted blind, the final wine was blended. Seventy percent of the resulting blend was barrel fermented, and the remainder of the wine was fermented in tanks.
Focused aromas of pear, fig, and tropical fruit show the wine’s fruit intensity, while undertones of butterscotch and vanilla provide complexity. On the palate, these fruit flavors intensify and are complemented by pretty notes of balanced oak.
